I highly recommend it. It has a great sound and fits perfectly in mybedroom. It's nice and compacted. It's just what I was looking for to play CDs.
I have never gone wrong with a Sony product but have had many, many problems with the "sound alike" product Sanyo. Operation is easy. My Sony boombox is an excellent buy. Tone is loud and clear.
A really great product. The boombox arrived in a couple of days and was everything we wanted.
I had therefore a more decent sound to listen to.Also, I found this boombox cheaply made and pricey. You can find used vintage sony boombox with cd/cassette player for less than $50 USD. It doesn't have good treble and has poor bass.
However, I don't think it is a good product even if you get it for half that price. Those from the 90's are well made and powerful. Bottom line is I would have spend my money on something else if I knew how bad the sound was.
I think the sound is bad. I bought it because I thought when a product has the name sony, is expensive and is highly rated it has to be good. If you can find one in good or excellent condition then why wasting your money elsewhere.
I used the headphone jack and pluged my computer speakers in it. I paid nearly $100 CAN ($80 USD) for this including shipping.
This Sony combination CD/cassette player with am/fm radio allows him to have all of his music with him as he continues to rehabilitate. I purchased this for my uncle who recently suffered a traumatic brain injury. He loves music and has a lot of cassettes as well as CDs filled with his favorite songs.
